I Now Have a Verified Account (I Think)

I was getting complaints that my Twitter feed at @Wendell_Howe was getting filled up with "thank yous" and replies. And yet I hate to be so rude as to ignore anyone on Twitter who takes the time to tweet me. So I created a second account, @Wendell_A_Howe, so I could talk to others without everyone feeling like we were talking behind their backs.

To make sure that there would be no confusion, I decided to get the second account verified so people would know it wasn't a fake account. However when I made the request to Twitter, they politely laughed in my face. Verified accounts were only for celebrities, like actors, singers, politicians and other entertainers. A Temporal Anthropologist is just a historic researcher and hardly qualified.

So I did a search on the internet to find a solution. I found a nice outfit in Tijuana who said they could verify my account and created the above. It is proudly displayed in the background of my second account. When you see it, you will know I am indeed a True Twit.

  2. I've actually subscribed to your tweets for a while now, and I've always enjoyed your tidbits, news, and mini-tweet-seminars. However, I never thought to check if you were the REAL Dr. Wendell A. Howe, Temporal Anthropologist Extraordinaire. Upon seeing your offshore verification, I am truly relieved to find that I am, indeed, following the True Twit!

  3. By the way...I had no idea you were the brainchild of M. Bennett, and that you're now a Time Travel Consultant for M. Serendipity! What a perfect premise for an absolutely delightful series! Please get your story circulating in public. I'd love to delve into it!

  4. Jeanette here. Thank you Linz. Don't tell Wendell's he's not real. It would break his heart.

I do have a few excerpts up from my two books that are now being edited, and hopefully someday published so I can make millions and millions of pennies. (Okay maybe not that much.) You can find them under the "About Me" on the sidebar.

I noticed your aol name is Bruinpisces. Does this mean you are a Pisces? Believe it or not, Wendell was born 3 March 2575. (He's British, so I have to put the date in front of the month.) Halfway through the first book I realized the poor shmuck was a Pisces--a soft-hearted, clueless, whimsical, romantic--repressed & passioante at the same time. I hadn't decided what to do with Wendell at this point, and I contemplated shooting him and putting him out of his misery. If you're a Pisces, you'll understand.

By the way, I was born March 6. :)

Due to bots sticking ads into the comments I am now forced to moderate. Differing opinions are welcomed. This is history, which is the surviving written record, which may or may not be accurate. I will even allow comments pushing other books or websites as long as they are relevant.
